Why less is more when it comes to cornering your market.

Competition is the bane of small business and the service provider’s Achilles heel. If you find yourself in the funnel of contesting for customers on price, availability, quantity and quality, then you can already see the outcome.

That is why we must go where no one else wants to go. Down the rabbit hole and out into the hidden valley where we call the shots. I will invite you to examine a different perspective on how to develop your business to work in a space in which you determine the parameters and not your competition.

Nicolay Kreidler works with clients to resolve gaps in their understanding of how to make their business work with strategies, tools, and skills so that they can succeed in delivering their great service to the community. This workshop offers you practical methods for improving your own skills as an entrepreneur and leader. You will learn why successful leaders have high EQ—or “emotional intelligence”—and how to increase your own EQ using methods that can influence your business success. Interactive discussions will identify participants’ current business challenges, plus ways you can apply EQ methods to meet these challenges. During the session you will develop your own unique plan for the next steps you should take to get out of your own way and improve your opportunities for success.

This is not a light subject, but requires your willingness to pause, self-reflect, and be honest with yourself about what you really want in your business and how you may need to grow and develop as a leader in order to achieve what you’re aiming for. Bring your business challenges to share. Everyone’s participation will contribute valuable ideas that may spark new solutions for you.

(pre) Lunch & Learn: Value Proposition Design

  • VenturePad

SPECIAL TIME: 11AM (not noon). But please stay and have lunch with us afterwards!

This discussion explores a value proposition that makes a case for why a customer should pick one product over another, citing the unique value the product provides over its contenders. It provides value to the customer by resulting in the solution of a problem the customer is facing or providing value to the customer. Most start-ups and young companies fail to define their value proposition before they launch their products, because entrepreneurs tend to give too much credence to the ''idea'' they have and run with it, as opposed to exploring how this idea would actually perform in the market. Chris will help you answer three critical questions:
1) Who is my customer and their needs?
2) What is the compelling value of the product or service?
3) How do I sell it at enough profit to pay myself and my expenses to make it worthwhile?

Chris Yalonis - Marketing research and strategy, Business Plans, VenturePad co-founder and veteran of 6 start-ups, Chris advises clients on marketing research, strategy, business models and plans, and proformas. He helps businesses with their market and sustainability strategy, customer ID and needs, product and service value proposition.
